Internet calls out Bollywood film Brahmastra‘s “Kesariya” for copying the chorus from Pakistani song “Laree Chooti” by Call the Band. #LoveStoriya trends on Twitter as the cringe-worthy lyrics spark memes online.
Bollywood film Brahmastra is set to release later this year. As a teaser, fans got a chance to check its first song “Kesariya” by Arjit Singh starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The song has over 30 million views on YouTube but has gotten mixed reactions online.
For one thing, people can’t wrap their heads around the cringe-worthy lyrics of chorus.
“Kaajal ki siyaahi se likhi hain tu ne jaane kitnon ki love storiya,” Internet trolls Indian lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya for trying to rhyme Kesariya with ‘Love Storiya’.
Currently, #LoveStoriya is trending on Twitter as netizen come with hilarious memes to share their disappointment over the song.

It’s not just the lyrics that people have a problem, but the chorus itself. That’s because chorus tune is a direct rip-off from the song “Laree Chooti” by Pakistani band Call.
Once again, Bollywood copies another Pakistani song.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise but the irony is that “Laree Chooti” was featured in 2007’s Bollywood film Ek Chalis Ki Last Local starring Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia.
In short, Bollywood is copying itself. Pakistani and Indian, for once, come together to collectively troll the song for its lack of originality.
Kesariya simply confirms the worrying trend in music where producers put 90% of their effort into a ten second section of the song that's constructed specifically for reels and then do the bare minimum for the rest of the song
