Indian actor Sidharth Shukla passed away last year after suffering from a sudden heart attack. According to the medical officials, the 40-year-old was brought dead to the hospital. Today marks the first death anniversary of the star and his fans collectively known as SidHearts, still, miss him and take inspiration from his life.
Sidharth Shukla was an incredible actor and a popular face of Indian soap operas. Shukla began his career in the industry as a model and made his acting debut with a lead role in the television show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na. He later appeared on shows such as Jaane Pehchaane Se… Ye Ajnabbi and Love U Zindagi, but became household names with the long-running soap opera Balika Vadhu.
The star also participated in other reality shows, including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7. In 2014, Shukla made his Bollywood debut with a supporting role in the Karan Johar-produced Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. But mostly known by the fans as the winner of the famous TV reality show Big Boss 13 in 2020.
His legacy lives on not only by his die-hard fans all around the world who proudly call themselves as SidHearts but also by her best friend and fellow Big Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill. Their chemistry was the highlight of the show fans started calling them as SidNaaz.
After appearing in Big Boss the stars also participated in different shows and made several public appearances together.
On his first death anniversary, the magazine Hindustan Times speaks to his fans to commemorate his untimely death. One of his fans from Toronto said,
“For us, we see Sidharth in Shehnaaz. I believe he is watching all of us,”
A dentist from Goa who even met this gem of a person said,
“He was an integral part of our lives, treated his SidHearts like family members, motivated and guided us. I wish we could go back in time and relive the wonderful moments he spent with us. His absence has left a void, which can never be filled,”
And one of his Pakistani fans from Islamabad proves that he was not only loved in his own country but across the border as well. He shared,
“In the past year, millions of his fans, including me, have realized that celebrating him, talking about him, telling people about him, and implementing his ideas in our lives will never end. He is infinite, a never-ending source of guidance and love. His impact across the border was such that whenever something bad happened in our country, he always asked us about our safety. He never differentiated between his Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi fans. He always considered them his fans, his SidHearts, his Siddians.”
