The always outspoken Ushna Shah gave her two cents on the public “extreme” reactions towards one’s personal choices and mere allegations.
The Habs star’s statement came in response to the series of criticism she received ranging from her wedding to her subtle display of support for Feroze Khan and the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
Ushna Shah made it clear that she’s not an “abuser sympathizer” but “a human sympathizer” and she will not sell out her conscience.
Ushna took to her Instagram to share a lengthy note to rant about the public’s negative perception towards her. She stated that she “stood up in solidarity with a woman who lost her father, a friend taken into custody unjustly, and urged people not to abuse an ex-colleague [Feroze Khan] who allegedly wronged a woman.”
She urged people not to go to extreme ends to condemn people on social media. Ushna recalled how she received backlash at her wedding for wearing an Indian style lehenga as a prime example.
Not one to back down, Ushna stated,
What I stand for is as per my own conscience. I’m allowed my own introspection, even if it faces backlash. I don’t have to adhere to the extreme right or left. I won’t apologize for it.
It is to be noted, Ushna Shah came under criticism recently after she shared a picture of herself with Feroze Khan, quoting a Hadith by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) about forgiveness. She also shared a picture of the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain with a similar message.
Ushna Shah is a popular actress who comes from a family of well-known stars. The 32-year-old is the daughter of actress, Ismat Tahira, and the sister of Isra Ghazal.
She has proven to be a versatile actress and has starred in popular drama serials such as Bashar Momin, Bala, Cheekh, Parizaad, Alif Allah Aur Insaan, and Habs.
Ushna Shah surprised her fans last year by revealing her relationship with pro-golfer Hamza Amin. He is the son of Taimur Hassan Amin, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Golf Federation. The two have finally settled down as they had a star-studded wedding earlier this year.
