Veteran actress Bushra Ansari had a ‘brain-fart’ moment on social media as she managed to upset every single Pakistani with her honest opinion that nobody asked for.
Bushra got a lot of hate online after suggesting Pakistanis should only get three days instead of five for Eid, demanding that people should “work day and night” instead.
Many criticized her for being out of touch with the realities of ordinary people’s lives, highlighting her privileged status as a celebrity. Unfortunately, she got her wish as the government recently announced a reduction in Eid holidays from five days to three, a decision that has sparked controversy among the public.
In a post on her Instagram account, Bushra shared the news of the reduced holidays and commented,
Ma Sha Allah. This nation needs to work day and night to progress in life… but why do we want to have so many holidays… 3 days are more than enough… kaam karlo kaam. Bus chuttiyon ka bahana chahiye.
Bushra’s condescending remark sparked a strong backlash from the Pakistani awaam who felt that her comments were elitist and failed to consider the hardships faced by individuals who work tirelessly throughout the year.
Critics argued that the Eid holidays provide an opportunity for people to rest, celebrate, and spend time with their loved ones. They highlighted the financial burden of traveling and the importance of relaxation for mental well-being.
Social media users expressed their disagreement with Ansari’s stance, emphasizing the need for work-life balance and the recognition of the challenges faced by the working class.
One user wrote, “Madam khud ek drama kar ka pora saal rest karti hi uk london gomti rati hi or bechara goverment ka gareeb log 5 chuttiya karle tu in ko bura lagta ha wah aunty wah toda kuta tome sada kuta kuta hi😂”

She is completely right. We as a nation need to leave this “King” and “Badmash” mentality and actually start investing in ourselves by working hard. Think about the people who work and earn of daily wages.
Instead of thinking for others it is more considerate to rather ask them what they actually want. I am sure there will always be a divided opinion, and as a society one must not impose rules only by thinking from one perspective.
