In a historic move for animal rights advocacy in Pakistan, the nation’s first-ever animal rights anthem by Ayesha Chundrigar, “Hearts Beat The Same,” has taken the internet by storm.
The unique and powerful rap song, penned and sung from the perspective of animals, is earning widespread acclaim for its poignant expression of their emotions.

Renowned philanthropist Ayesha Chundrigar is the visionary behind this groundbreaking initiative, with the lyrics crafted by acclaimed actress and producer Sania Saeed. The song features vocals by the talented Ali Allahditta and Hibah Hassan, while the rap segment is skillfully performed by Moji.
Ayesha Chundrigar shared the inspiration behind the anthem in a heartfelt Instagram post. Recalling a moment during a delayed plane journey in 2018, she expressed,
My mind came alive with the idea of writing a rap song. I always wondered how animals would express themselves in words if they could. And they would be f***ing angry & rightly so. But also sad 💔 A rap was the perfect expression of that.
Despite the initial challenge of not being able to write in Urdu and lacking musical expertise, Chundrigar’s determination led her to collaborate with Sania Saeed, Ali Allahditta, Moji, and Hibah Hassan. The result is a compelling anthem that captures the anger and sadness of animals facing neglect and abuse.
Ayesha Chundrigar revealed that a music video for “Hearts Beat The Same” is in the works, expressing her eagerness to bring her vision to life. “I can’t wait to put a video together. Brewing in my head now as I type as I look for the perfect director for it. Because I know, we’re going to kill it 🙌🏼,” she stated.
