After facing multiple production delays, Marvel Studios has finally unveiled the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again, the highly anticipated Disney+ series set to premiere on March 4th.
The trailer marks the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer-turned-vigilante, and teases a darker, grittier tone reminiscent of the original Netflix series that made the character a fan favorite.
The trailer also offers glimpses of some beloved characters from the original Daredevil series, including Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), and Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.
In addition to the returning cast, Daredevil: Born Again introduces new characters to the MCU. Kamar de los Reyes makes his debut as Hector Ayala, better known as White Tiger.
The trailer also teases the arrival of Muse, a sadistic supervillain first introduced in Charles Soule’s 2016 Daredevil comic run.
One of the standout elements of the trailer is its tone, which seems to harken back to the gritty, bone-crunching action that defined Netflix’s Daredevil series.
This shift in tone is likely to please fans who were concerned that the Disney+ adaptation might water down the character’s darker elements to fit the platform’s family-friendly reputation. While it remains to be seen how far Marvel will push the boundaries, the trailer suggests that Daredevil: Born Again will stay true to the character’s roots.
