Squid Game Season 2 Shatters Records

Netflix’s Third Most-Watched Show Ever!

With 152.5 million total views, the second season of Squid Game has secured its position as Netflix’s third most-watched TV season, trailing only behind its record-breaking first season (265 million views) and Wednesday (252 million views).

After its premiere on December 26, Squid Game Season 2 quickly broke records, amassing 68 million views in just four days, making it Netflix’s biggest TV debut ever.

By the end of its first 11 days, the Korean-language thriller had reached an impressive 126.2 million views — a milestone no other Netflix series has achieved in such a short time. As of now, Squid Game Season 2 continues to dominate Netflix’s non-English TV top 10 list, with its first season resurfacing at the No. 3 spot.

On the English-language TV chart, Harlan Coben’s limited series Missing You claimed the No. 1 position for the week of January 6, drawing 15.2 million views. It was followed by the historical drama American Primeval with 10.4 million views, and the Jerry Springer docuseries Fights, Camera, Action with 7.7 million. Other notable entries include the debut of WWE Raw at No. 4, Gabriel Iglesias’ comedy special Legend of Fluffy at No. 7, and Keira Knightley’s spy thriller Black Doves at No. 8.

On the film side, Netflix’s airport thriller Carry-On, which premiered on December 13, held onto the No. 2 spot on the English-language films chart with 7.2 million views.

It trailed behind the top contender, The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019). As usual, family-friendly content dominated the film chart, with entries like the original The Secret Life of Pets, two Despicable Me films, and Sonic the Hedgehog securing spots.
