In what can only be described as a cautionary tale for clout-chasers everywhere, a young man in Lahore learned the hard way that lions don’t care about TikTok fame.
Azim, an “aspiring” TikToker, was severely injured after entering a lion’s cage at a breeding farm in the Sabzazar area to film a video. Spoiler alert: the lion wasn’t a fan of the impromptu collaboration.
The incident took place at the breeding facility owned by Mian Umar Dola, where Azim decided to get up close and personal with the caged predator. According to reports, the lion, clearly unimpressed by Azim’s antics, attacked him, leaving him with injuries to his face, shoulder, and arm.
Azim was rushed to Jinnah Hospital, where he received medical treatment for his wounds. Thankfully, he’s expected to recover, but his brush with death has sparked a wave of criticism and concern over the reckless behavior of social media influencers.
Wildlife Department Takes Action
The incident didn’t just end with Azim’s injuries. The Director-General of Punjab Wildlife wasted no time in responding, issuing an order to revoke the breeding farm’s license and calling for legal action against the facility’s owner.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Wildlife Department confirmed that the DG had directed strict measures to ensure accountability. The attack has also reignited discussions about the ethical treatment of big cats and the dangers of keeping them in captivity for commercial purposes.
For now, let this be a lesson to all aspiring TikTokers: when it comes to lions, it’s best to admire them from a safe distance—and leave the cage-climbing to the professionals.
