Get ready, food lovers! Pakistani chef and content creator Maryam Ishtiaq is set to showcase her culinary prowess on the grand stage of Next Level Chef Season 4, the high-stakes cooking competition judged by none other than celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
The Dallas-based culinary star first shared the exciting news on Instagram two weeks ago, expressing immense gratitude for the opportunity. “I have consistently followed a unique career journey, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to turn my dreams into reality while pursuing my passions,” she wrote. Representing her community on such a prestigious platform is an honor she deeply cherishes.
In a conversation with Images, Ishtiaq reflected on the overwhelming experience, admitting she was still in disbelief. “People dream of doing the things I have been able to do, and I’m truly so grateful that I get to pursue my passion. What’s even more incredible is the tremendous support I’ve received from my community—I never anticipated this level of encouragement!”
The Journey to Next Level Chef
Ishtiaq revealed that the selection process for the show was no easy feat. Though she couldn’t disclose too many details due to FOX’s regulations, she shared that it was a lengthy and rigorous process.
“I applied for the show years ago and had completely forgotten about it. Then one day, I got a call saying they were interested in speaking with me, and I nearly lost it!” she recalled. From multiple interview rounds to auditions and extensive background checks, the journey to being chosen from thousands of applicants was nothing short of extraordinary.
Despite the challenges, Ishtiaq remained confident in her path. “I’ve carved my way here, and I’m incredibly proud of it. My private chef journey has been so fulfilling—I cherish every client of mine, and running my own business has been the cherry on top.”
Passion, Representation, and a Bright Future
Although she isn’t certain what the future holds post-Next Level Chef, she considers making it onto the show one of the proudest moments of her life. “I want to embrace every moment of this experience, learn from it, and grow!” she said.
Ishtiaq also took a moment to celebrate the recent rise of Pakistani talent on global platforms. “Over the last couple of years, Pakistanis have truly made their mark in mainstream media and international competitions, and we should be proud of every single one of them! We are finally being recognized for our drive, passion, and culture on a global stage—it’s incredible to witness.”
And what was it like to cook in front of the legendary Gordon Ramsay? While keeping show details under wraps, she hinted at a surprisingly warm experience. “Without giving too much away, Chef Ramsay is absolutely the sweetest. He genuinely wants every chef to succeed! All three judges live up to their reputations, and it was an honor to learn from them.”
More Than Just a Chef
Beyond her work as a private chef and content creator, Ishtiaq is also the founder of It’s Actually, a brand producing halal, handcrafted bone broth. She was featured in Forbes last year, where she shared her ambition of opening a café that seamlessly blends halal cuisine with various dietary needs on a diverse menu.
With Next Level Chef Season 4 premiering on February 13 on FOX, all eyes are on Ishtiaq as she takes on this thrilling challenge. We’re rooting for her every step of the way!
