The President of the United States, Donald Trump, posted an AI-generated viral video on his social media platforms mocking the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
The video, titled “Trump Gaza,” reimagines the war-torn region as a luxury resort, complete with golden Trump statues, beachfront hotels, and parties, sparking outrage across the globe.
The video, shared on Trump’s Instagram and Truth Social, begins with clips of Gaza’s destruction, accompanied by the question, “What Next?” As upbeat music plays, the visuals transform into a surreal depiction of Gaza as a Trump-branded utopia.
The video features Elon Musk eating hummus on the beach, scantily clad AI-generated women dancing (with beards, ironically), and children carrying golden balloons shaped like Trump’s head.
Social media erupted in outrage, with one user on calling it a “deranged AI snuff film glorifying the genocide in Palestine with the US stealing Gaza and colonizing it with Trump statues and hotels.”
Even Trump’s supporters expressed disapproval, with many urging him to focus on domestic issues instead of creating offensive fantasies about Gaza.
The backlash was swift and widespread, with critics from across the political spectrum denouncing the video. Nebraska State Senator Megan Hunt called Trump’s vision for Gaza a “reckless affront to international law, human rights, and the foundational principles of justice and sovereignty.”
In a series of tweets, Hunt added:
Trump sees Gaza not as a home to millions of humans but as an empty plot of land for his next project. The lives of Palestinians mean nothing to him — they are simply an obstacle to be bulldozed over for casinos, golf courses, and beachfront resorts.
Another X user highlighted the absurdity of the video, saying, “Trump is casually letting us know that American taxpayers will pay over a trillion dollars to clean up and rebuild Gaza, and Trump, Musk, and Netanyahu will be the ones who financially benefit.”
