Everyone, including celebrities Sami Khan and Zara Tareen, were outraged over the shocking incident at Dharampura Underpass in Lahore, when an armed guard of a private security company fired shots at a motorist, attacking him and then fled the scene.

The incident, captured on video, has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and calls for justice.

The video shows a luxury vehicle escorted by armed guards blatantly violating traffic laws. The situation escalated when the guards got into a heated argument with a motorist, later identified as Muhammad Imran, a trader.

More than a dozen guards armed with sophisticated weapons exited their double-cabin vehicles and confronted Imran. One of the guards fired a shot, which hit Imran’s car. In a daring move, Imran stepped out of his car and overpowered the guard who fired the shot.

However, the other guards intervened, assaulted Imran, and rescued their accomplice before fleeing the scene. Due to traffic congestion and the arrival of the Dolphin Police, the guards abandoned one of their vehicles and weapons.

The Dolphin Squad seized the abandoned vehicle and weapons but could not apprehend the guards, who remained unidentified. Lahore Operations DIG Faisal Kamran has ordered a case to be registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act against the guards and the unidentified individual they were escorting.

A police team has been formed to trace the suspects using footage from Safe City cameras. DIG Kamran emphasized that such reckless behavior would not be tolerated, stating, “The law applies to everyone equally, and anyone who takes the law into their own hands will face imprisonment.”

Actor Sami Khan condemned the reckless display of firearms, criticizing bystanders for not helping the motorist. “How dare that guard fire in public like this? There are so many cars that might have had families in them,” he wrote.

Actor Zara Tareen also weighed in, criticizing regional biases and calling out the abuse of power. Social media users praised Imran’s bravery, with one commenting, “So proud of the man in the white shirt who stood up to this.”

Many have called for protests against VIP culture and demanded strict action against the security company involved.

The police have confirmed that the foreign guest and their host, who were being escorted, arrived at a private hotel in Gulberg, Lahore without security following the incident. DIG Kamran assured the public that more arrests are expected and that action will be taken against the security company responsible for employing the guards.
