Pakistani singing sensation Asim Azhar found himself in an uncomfortable spotlight during a recent live concert in Lahore when a group of fans repeatedly chanted the name of his ex-fiancée, Merub Ali. A video capturing the moment, which has since gone viral across social media platforms, shows the Jo Tu Na Mila crooner pausing his performance to address the disruptive behavior with grace and humility.
In the widely circulated clip, Asim, visibly uneasy, halts his singing to politely request the audience to refrain from shouting Merub’s name. “Please behave respectfully; we all have families,” he said, his voice calm yet firm, urging fans to maintain decorum during the public event. The incident, which occurred on June 14, 2025, has sparked widespread discussion online, with many praising Asim’s composure while condemning the actions of the “ill-mannered” individuals involved.
This isn’t the first time Asim has faced such a situation. A similar incident took place at a previous concert when fans shouted the name of actress Hania Aamir, highlighting a recurring issue of inappropriate audience behavior at his performances.
The Lahore concert episode, however, struck a particularly sensitive chord, coming just days after Asim and Merub announced the end of their three-year engagement on June 12.
The split between Asim Azhar and Merub Ali has fueled intense speculation, with rumors swirling about possible reasons, including Merub’s alleged closeness with singer Havi. While neither has addressed these claims, the public’s fascination with their personal lives continues to dominate headlines.
