A short and strikingly candid resignation letter has gone viral all over the internet for it’s brutal honesty that is missing in today’s job market.
The letter, reportedly written by someone named Dayitva Shah, was posted on LinkedIn by Shubham Gane, founder and CEO of Mumbai-based content company Hinglish.
In the note, written in Roman Hindi, the employee simply translated to:
Hi Sir, I’ve sold out. The other company is paying four paise more.
Gane shared the screenshot with a playful caption, applauding the honesty of the message and calling it “an honest resignation.” The post quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention and sparking a flurry of lighthearted responses.
Many on LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter) praised the employee’s directness. “At least he told the truth—no corporate buzzwords, just facts,” one user remarked. Another joked about how a manager might reply: “Let me know if they’re hiring.”
Although the letter’s authenticity hasn’t been confirmed, its humor and relatability have resonated with many online.
