Syra Yousuf is stepping into the vibrant universe of Pakkay Dost. The popular actor will be taking on the role of “Mimi” in the third season of Bilal Maqsood’s much-loved Urdu children’s series.
The announcement came via the official Pakkay Dost Instagram page on Sunday, where a cheerful poster featuring Syra in character was unveiled. The caption read, “Syra Yousuf hein Mimi!!💛 Everyone get ready because we’re about to have so much fun! Mimi and Pakkay Dost are coming in Pakkay Dost Season 3.”
Season three is scheduled to launch on September 1, carrying forward Maqsood’s vision of delivering entertaining, imaginative, and culturally rich content for young viewers.
Recently, Bilal Maqsood—formerly of Strings—shared his enthusiasm for the project, describing Pakkay Dost as his effort to “make Urdu cool again.”
Reflecting on the show’s beginnings and his goal to engage children with the Urdu language in a fun and meaningful way, Maqsood explained, “Pakkay Dost is my way of making Urdu cool again, so our children don’t worry about being judged while speaking our language.
Each episode features 13 to 14 songs, drawing on my 33 years of experience with Strings. While we can’t eliminate screen time or take away their devices, we can ensure they’re watching quality content—programming that reflects our values and traditions.”
