In a time when healthcare leadership in Pakistan is still evolving, Dr. Amna Jatoi stands out as a dynamic and forward-thinking professional who blends clinical expertise, academic leadership, and community service. With a background in dentistry and an MBA in Health and Hospital Management, she has dedicated her career to strengthening healthcare systems and preparing the next generation of leaders.
Dr. Jatoi completed her BDS from Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine, followed by an MBA in Health and Hospital Management from IoBM, one of the top-ranked business schools in Sindh. Her transition from clinical practice to healthcare administration reflects her belief that improving patient outcomes requires strengthening the systems that deliver care.
During her tenure at Kharadar General Hospital, she served as Deputy Manager of Administration, overseeing medical and dental OPDs and inpatient wards. She coordinated with the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Rotavirus Sentinel Site Study and worked closely with Aga Khan University on the SEAP and KEPS surveillance projects.
Her role included drafting annual departmental objectives, organizing CME sessions, and representing the hospital during USAID/IDDS visits. She also initiated and launched a free TB testing and TB clinic in partnership with Greenstar, improving access to diagnostics for underserved communities.
At Dow University of Health Sciences, she contributes as a faculty member and MBA Program Coordinator at IBHM, where she ensures implementation of academic policies, and teaches EMBA students. She initiated an outreach program to enhance student industry exposure and provides career counseling to high school students. She is also invited as a research evaluator at various universities.
Dr. Jatoi’s work reflects a commitment to service, innovation, and leadership bridging medicine, management, and community impact to help shape a more equitable healthcare system in Pakistan.
