About Pakistan Quarters
It is noteworthy that the residents of Pakistan Quarters near Jamshed Town, Karachi, have long been awaiting a formal registry for their houses.
This was a colony built for government servants after the Partition. However, the government agencies abandoned the supervision of the quarters in the 1960s, and the residents were left to look after matters on their own.
In early 2000, when the MQM (Mutahhida Qaumi Movement) had the city government, some party members distributed fake documents among the residents against hefty sums of money.
Now, when most of the allottees have passed away, the houses are in possession of their kids or grand-kids. Some government officials forced these individuals to vacate their quarters.
Aamir Liauqat contested General Election 2018, and promised to resolve this pending issue. He claims that no finally some headway is being made to right a historic wrong for the inhabitants of Jamshed Town.
