Former cricketer Abdul Razzaq opens up about his alleged love affair with dancer Deedar. The all-rounder talks about his personal life on the ARY Digital talk show Bouncer.

Abdul Razzaq is one of the most prolific cricketers in Pakistan’s history. The all-rounder is famous for his swashbuckling batting and wicket-taking skills. The former cricket star was a key part of Pakistan cricket side for over a decade. He was part of the team that won Pakistan’s maiden ICC T20i World Cup in 2009. Razzaq is currently serving as a coach to Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators.

Recently, Razzaq was lambasted online over his misogynistic remarks on female cricketer Nida Dar. He appeared on Bouncer, a talk show on ARY Digital with host Shoaib Jatt. The former cricketer talked about his professional career as well as his personal life.

In the late ’90s, there were rumors of Razzaq’s love affair with a famous stage dancer Deedar. People believed that the all-rounder would end up marrying her but that did not happen. Shoaib Jatt took the opportunity to ask Razzaq about these rumors to get the real scoop.

“Yes these perceptions were right,” Razzaq replied to the interviewer’s question. “I became friends with Deedar in 1999 and we were so close but I never promised her about getting married.”

Razzaq further added that he gave the relationship a chance for six months before making his final decision.

“Deedar refused to leave her career and I was not able to marry her without making her leave her profession because that wasn’t acceptable in my family.”
