Actor Yawar Iqbal Mocks Bushra Bibi with Halloween Costume, Areeba Habib Gets Caught in Crossfire

Actor Yawar Iqbal sparked public outrage yesterday after dressing up as Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi in an all-white burqa and niqab for a Halloween party.

Film producer Asad Ul Haq and his wife, on Sunday, hosted a Halloween party over the weekend, with the who’s who of the showbiz industry in attendance. They also invited the staff of Nabila’s Salon to provide makeup and costume services for the guests. Surprisingly, one of the guests, actor Yawar Iqbal, decided to dress up as Bushra Bibi Khan.

Yawar Iqbal mocked the PTI chairman’s wife in roleplay at the party. He and his makeup artist, Tabesh Ali Khoja, took a selfie together with the caption “Pinky and me”.

Note that ‘Pinky’ is the nickname that the Pakistani media used to refer to Bushra Bibi.

Yawar Iqbal then shared a series of pictures of Bushra Bibi on his Instagram story. The actor wrote obscene captions on the pictures as well, which sparked public outrage.

Syed Yawar has since made his Instagram account private and has even removed his profile picture on the social media site.

Areeba Habib Gets Caught in the Crossfire

While Syed Yawar Iqbal is in hiding, celebrities who shared his viral costume are facing immense backlash as well. Actress Areeba Habib, while admiring the costume, shared one of the pictures on her Instagram story.

As a result, Twitterati attacked the Jalan star for disrespecting IK’s wife and her Islamic attire.

A failed actress has nothing better to do but to mock a women who wears a burqa.

The online backlash prompted Areeba Habib to quickly delete the post and issue an apology to the fans. In her defense, the Jalan star stated she made a “human error”.

I was just appreciating the look. I didn’t know what the post was related to. Human error. I love my religion and I love it’s attire. I want to sincerely apologize for my oversight. I will make sure I am careful with my postings here on. Apologize and love.

Bushra Bibi is the spouse of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan. She married Imran Khan in 2018 when he became the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
