Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui

Over the years we have seen Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui play several roles, many of which were military men. Now the Yalghaar actor shared a throwback to when the two friends played comrades yet again in WilCo.

“We were young, handsome (aren’t doing bad for our age even now!) and setting out as actors when WilCo happened.”

Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui had played the roles of Major Sarim and Major Jamshed respectively in the drama series.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) and 7th Sky Entertainment production was aired on Pakistan Television back in the mid-2000s. Written by Mohammad Ahmed, the military drama was directed by Ahson Talish.

Aside from Adnan Siddiqui, the WilCo cast included big-wigs like Seemi Raheel, Imran Abbas, Laila Zuberi, Zainab Qayyum, Amna Sheikh, Beenish Chauhan, and even a very young Danish Taimoor.

The drama had focused on efforts of the Pakistan Army outside of the battle field and in civilian terrain.

Speaking about how much he’s grown and matured as an actor, Adnan Siddiqui opened up about being envious of the role of adjutant essayed by Humayun Saeed, despite essaying the role of a major himself.

“Despite being close friends, sometimes the actor in you turns envious of a role your friend is doing and I am no exception. I have wished to dig my teeth into some of Humayun’s characters and WilCo was one of them where he was an adjutant. It didn’t matter that I played a major or that I too got to wear the uniform proudly. I was fixated on performing Humayun’s role. And he knew this way too well. So what does one do when friends are involved and the green-eyed devil takes over? You let fate intervene which in this case, did quite smartly. While shooting for a scene, Humayun fell off a horse and that’s when I decided to let go off the adjutant and stick to the Major.”
