Affan Waheed: ‘Producers Drag Dramas To Make Money Out Of Projects’

Affan Waheed

Everyone hates a dragged-out drama, even artists it seems. Well, at least Affan Waheed thinks so. The Khamooshi actor opened up about his disdain for dragging out drama serials.

In a recent interview with ‘Gloss ETC‘, the Pakistani actor and model how it hurts artists to see their drama serial to go through that too. He shared how during the shooting actors don’t realize that the drama will be dragged out. However, seeing all the footage unnecessarily used on screen is cringe even for them.

“It obviously hurts to see such things, but when you’re shooting for a drama you don’t realize, till you actually watch it on TV screen. When we watch it later, sometimes we regret that if this thing would not have happened, it would have grabbed audiences’ attention on a larger scale.”

So what can be done about this? Nothing really, as it’s the producer’s call. The Ghalti actor shared how producers make the decision to let a drama drag out, obviously motivated by monetary reasons.

“However, we can’t help it because it depends on the producer, they also have to make money out of that project. We are helpless at that moment”, added Affan Waheed.

On the work front, Affan Waheed was last seen in Yun Tu Hai Pyar Hai Bohut opposite Hira Mani. However, his drama serial Pardes really made waves.

Audiences really got attached to his character and had a hard time saying goodbye to the drama. Good thing it still ended in due time, as the artist doesn’t like dragged-out dramas as much as the next viewer.
