After Kubra Khan, Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat also moved Sindh High Court (SHC) against YouTuber Adil Raja over spreading defamatory rumors on social media. According to Dunya News, she filed a plea to take strict action against him as his claims greatly affected her dignity and honor.
Here is what she said while talking to the media,
I have had enough, it has now become beyond my endurance. The whole world respects me. I am the person who helped in evolving the Pakistani cinema industry but some people are defaming me and doing character assassination, shame on them and the people who are spreading these rumors.
Mehwish Hayat also recently hired a team of personal bodyguards amid all the political ruckus involving the actresses. She has limited all her personal activities as well. She reportedly felt unsafe after the recent controversial statements and is also feeling that she might get attacked at any time.
The Sindh High Court had earlier directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block any and all scandalous or defamatory content on social media against the actresses after Kubra Khan’s petition.
Adil Farooq later posted another explanatory video and drew back from his earlier stance and apologized to Kubra Khan.
Actresses claim that FIA and PTA have been approached to remove the defamatory content but no action has been taken against YouTube so far.
The SHC ordered the PTA and the FIA to submit an explanatory answer at next the hearing which was adjourned till the end of this month.
It is to be noted, the whole fiasco began after former Pakistan Army Major-turned-YouTuber made outrageous allegations against some actresses and models with the initials, S.A, K.K, M.H, and M.K.
