Now the Yaqeen Ka Safar actor has been nominated for Calgary’s theatre accolade The Betty Mitchell Awards. Ahad Raza Mir has been nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance by an Actor’ in a Drama category.

Other Accolades

Before Hamlet: A Ghost Story, Ahad Raza Mir won the award for ‘best actor in a musical’ at the Canadian Critics’ Awards.

His performance in Hamlet and Shakesperian theatre is on another level though.

“Hamlet is particularly an exhausting character. Once the show is over, the cast asks me if I want to hang out and I usually just refuse. I am so drained that all I want to do is sleep.”

Ahad Raza Mir has a lot of faith in his performance as the lead in the Shakespearian tragedy.

“My mother came to see me perform and she told me that for the first time, she couldn’t recognise me and actually felt scared of me. I just thought that I must  be doing something right if my own mother could think that way!”
