The Chupan Chupai duo Ahsan Khan and Neelum Munir are teaming up for Qayamat. No, no not the apocalypse, but a new drama serial.
Besides this comedic duo, 7th Sky Entertainment’s drama serial Qayamat cast Amar Khan, Haroon, Shabbir Jan, and Saba Faysal in key roles.
But will Ahsan Khan and Neelum Munir be able to carry forward a serious story?
Both actors hogged all the attention with their chemistry and banter in Yasir Nawaz’s comedy film.
Now fans are curious about one thing. Can they make the magic work in a serious drama? How well will they carry Sarwat Nazir’s script?
Asad Qureshi and Abdullah Qadwani are producing under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment, while Ali Faizan will helm direction.
Ahsan Khan told Images that Qayamat will see him in a solemn role. It’s not quite the conventional love story, but rather something more experimental.
“My character is not any run-of-the-mill character, … I’m slightly picky and choosy about what I do, and this falls under the experimentation category. It’s not a simple love story. My role has shades of slightly negative, weird – different aspects.”
The Parsa actor said that Qayamat is actually a social family drama packed with emotional appeal. Rather than stick to one theme, this drama serial has a lot going on covering;
“issues that women have to face when they have to take a stand against the wrong being done against them. Or how children internalize traits of bad parenting and apply them on their own lives.”
So when do we get to see this for ourselves? There’s no telling when this drama serial is set to release yet. But we hope it is sooner rather than later. Fans just can’t wait to see Neelam Muneer and Ahsan Khan together again.
