In a dramatic escalation of their ongoing feud, Pakistani drama star Alizeh Shah has served a legal notice to her former co-star Minsa Malik, accusing her of defamation and threatening a Rs. 1 billion lawsuit.
The notice, shared by Shah on social media, demands an immediate public apology from Malik for alleged malicious actions and statements that have tarnished Shah’s reputation. Failure to comply within 48 hours could lead to legal action, including a case with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The clash between the two actresses, which first made headlines in August 2023, stems from an incident on the set of a project co-starring Sami Khan. Malik, known for her roles in Aulaad and Nand, filed an FIR in Islamabad, alleging that Shah, purportedly under the influence of drugs, assaulted her and threw a “marijuana-filled cigarette” at her.
These claims sparked widespread controversy, painting Shah in a negative light and fueling public speculation.
Two years later, Shah has hit back, accusing Malik of orchestrating a smear campaign. In a recent statement, Shah claimed Malik subjected her to months of harassment, prompting her to demand a formal apology. The legal notice, a bold move in their ongoing saga, outlines Shah’s grievances in detail, alleging that Malik’s actions were “defamatory, malicious, and directly harmful” to her professional standing.
The legal notice pulls no punches, accusing Malik of admitting on a public platform to using derogatory language against Shah and physically assaulting her. “You referred to her in degrading terms and even slapped her, which is a direct admission of assault,” the notice reads. “Such language is not only insulting and inappropriate but also constitutes a direct attack on her dignity, violating her rights under defamation laws.”
Further, Shah alleges that Malik circulated a retracted application falsely implicating her in fabricated misconduct. “Despite knowing the allegations were withdrawn, you continued to publicize them, portraying our client in a false and deeply negative light,” the notice states. This, Shah claims, was a “calculated move” to damage her reputation and disrupt her career, leading to professional setbacks and lost opportunities.
The notice demands that Malik immediately cease all defamatory actions, remove related content, and issue a written public apology acknowledging the falsehood of her claims. Failure to comply within 48 hours will prompt Shah, known for her role in Dil Mom ka Diya, to pursue legal action for “loss of income, emotional distress, and injury to reputation.”
As the 48-hour deadline looms, all eyes are on Minsa Malik, who has yet to respond publicly to the legal notice. Will she issue the demanded apology, or will this feud escalate to the courts? For Alizeh Shah, this move is a bold assertion of her right to dignity and respect, reinforcing her stance that she will only work in environments that value her contributions.
