Tragedy strikes Amjad Sabri’s home once again as the late qawwal’s mother, Ashari Begum passed away. The mother of Amjad Sabri had been suffering from a prolonged illness in Karachi. She breathed her last on Wednesday.
Karachi is grieving another loss of life as public figures offered their condolences. Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr. Farooq Sattar is also grieving with Karachi and offered his condolences on the death of the mother of late Amjad Sabri.

Dr. Farooq Sattar wished for peace for the departed soul and prayed for the grieving family to find the strength to bear another loss.
The funeral will take place after Amjad Sabri’s brother Sarwat Qadri and sister return to Pakistan from abroad.
The Murder of Amjad Sabri
Amjad Sabri was murdered in a drive-by shooting on June 22, 2016. Two hitmen followed the qawwal’s car from his home in Liaquatabad on a motorcycle. The hitman, who was later identified as Ishaq, fired three shots from behind.
When the bullet got stuck in the chamber, Asim stopped the motorcycle, and Ishaq got off to proceed shooting from the right side and front with another gun.
Once Amjad Sabri slumped in the car seat, the hitmen fled the scene.

The convicts in the murder of Amjad Sabri, Asim alias Capri and Ishaq alias Bobby, have been convicted by an Anti-Terrorism Court. Previously on January 6th the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) militants, Asim and Ishaq appeared before the ATC to be tried for other crimes.
The hitmen are involved in dozens of terrorism cases and target killings.
The prisoners have been convicted in the Qawwal Amjad Sabri murder case.
