Arshad Sharif’s Daughter Aleeza Continues His Legacy as TV Reporter

Like father, like daughter.

The late journalist, Arshad Sharif’s daughter is following in footsteps of her father as she made her debut as a TV reporter.

In a remarkable continuation of her late father’s legacy, Aleeza, the daughter of esteemed journalist Arshad Sharif, has joined the renowned broadcaster ARY News, the same channel where her father hosted the widely acclaimed show Power Play.

The brave and inspired young Aleeza has chosen the same profession as her father, who tragically lost his life in a mysterious killing.

Aleeza’s first news package for ARY News quickly garnered attention on social media, with colleagues, social media users, and activists applauding her for her courage and determination to pursue journalism.

Shahbaz Gill, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a close aide of Imran Khan, shared a clip of Aleeza’s debut report and expressed his happiness at her entry into the world of reporting.

In a social media post, Gill praised Aleeza’s decision and extended his best wishes for her future. He also paid tribute to her late father, highlighting his exceptional contributions to journalism.

Arshad Sharif tragically lost his life in October of last year. Prior to his departure from Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates and subsequently to Nairobi, he had raised concerns about harassment.

Following his untimely death, the Pakistani government took action by approaching authorities in the UAE, and the Supreme Court initiated a suo moto  inquiry. However, the resolution of the case remains uncertain, despite assurances from top officials.

As Aleeza begins her journalistic journey, she carries forward her father’s legacy of truth, integrity, and dedication to providing the public with reliable news and information.
