Beauty blogger Ayesha Malik has finally spoken up about what actually made her call Priyanka Chopra ‘a bit of a hypocrite’ at the Beauty Con event which was held in Los Angeles.
It’s been four months since the video of their public showdown went viral, but it seems that Ayesha still has a lot to say on the matter.
Background
To give a quick recap, what happened was that Pakistani-American blogger Ayesha Malik questioned Priyanka on her warmongering “Jai Hind! #IndianArmedForces” tweet. For this, she was persecuted by the staff. Her mic was taken away, and Priyanka called Ayesha’s queries a “rant’, saying that the latter was screaming at her.

This response disappointed even the biggest PeeCee fans in Pakistan, and many of them even signed a petition to have her removed from her position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

The Actual Story
Ayesha Malik recently did a podcast with BBC Asian Network and shared her sentiments when she confronted Priyanka and why she felt the need to do so.
“Can I just set the record straight? Because I know this is a huge misconception and I totally understand why. I was there with my influencer friends for a meet and greet… I had to cross the convention floor to meet them and as I do so, there she is. Right on the stage with these giant screens above her. . . Here is this woman that I’ve invited into my home dozens of times through Bollywood films and it’s so weird I’m in the same vicinity as her.”
She further added,
“Too bad I’m not a fan anymore and I started walking away and that’s when she said, ‘I’m a humanitarian and I believe we should love our neighbours,’ and I got triggered so hard I started walking through the crowd.”
Ayesha didn’t realize how crowded the venue was because she was so frustrated at that moment and she only wanted answers.
“I honestly believe that God wanted me to be there at that very moment because he was also upset with her going off and being fake.”
The blogger also revealed that after the event, she looked at the pamphlet about Priyanka’s speaking points during her Beauty Con appearance. And it was a sort of a shock for her when she found out that Priyanka was actually addressing the crowd on social responsibility.
“That is so ironic because she’s actually the most irresponsible person online with a platform that big,” she concluded.
