Baaji, one of the most anticipated films of 2019 just put out its first teaser trailer. The trailer captures the dark allure of Lollywood and the competitive going-ons in the industry.
The multi-starrer Baaji cast Meera and Amna Ilyas in lead roles. The movie will mark the comeback of classic Lollywood actress Meera and she looks stunning in the trailer.
Coincidentally the film even cast Meera as a big Lollywood star. Meanwhile, Amna Ilyas essays the role of an aspiring actress.

Director of photography Salman Razzaq has done a great job of capturing all the blaring glamour, as well as the underlying dark shadows that lurk beneath.
Baaji also boasts an impressive male line-up with Osman Khalid Butt playing a director, Mohsin Abbas Haider as Amna’s potential love interest, Ali Kazmi as Meera’s apparent beau, and then veteran actors Nisho and Nayyar Ejaz playing key players in the biz.
For for the plot, we have Osman Khalid Butt, a director who is out to find an exceptional face for his film. The film-maker intends to give the industry a new icon.
“I’m looking for an exception face like Marilyn Monroe, like Meena Kumar, like…..”
While we assume that face he’s talking about is the starlet played by Meera, that is so not the case. Based on the trailer, this is where the key conflict of Baaji lies.Will Amna become the new face? Or will Meera manipulate events and characters to her own advantage?
The jealous rage that overcomes veteran actors when someone else takes the spotlight was a highlight of the teaser.

Baaji is co-written by Irfan Ahmed Urfi and director Saqib Malik himself. The film’s music includes work by Zeb Bangash, Taha Malik, Jamal Rahman and the maestro of Pakistani cinema Tafu Sahib.
