Once again a luxury brand is being trashed for ridiculously priced items. Especially when the quality of the product is undoubtedly not worth that much. Balenciaga has landed under fire for its ‘trash bag’ priced at $1790.
Luxury brand Balenciaga is being ‘trashed’ after releasing a ‘trash bag’ which is actually a handbag that overtly resembles a garbage bag. For a whopping price of $1790 Netizens debate if this might be the ‘world’s most expensive trash bag’.
Despite looking like a garbage bag, the handbag is made out of leather. It’s now in stores after debuting in Fall 2022 in March.
Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia told Women’s Wear Daily at the time that he couldn’t miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world. Why you ask? Because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal?
“I couldn’t miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal?”
He got what he wanted as the ‘Trash Pouch‘ has gone viral. To put it lightly the brand and the bag are being trashed on social media.
However, reactions range from puzzled to outraged to fits of laughter.
Balenciaga is the most disrespectful, funny brand ever. They really be trying it and people buy it man. I know that creative director just laughing. “Guess what imma make these Niggas buy now, a trash bag” lmaooo pic.twitter.com/mBW1KHdY07

Some people were legit mad about this.
Luxury “fashion” is legal theft. High fashion is a joke at this point. Balenciaga made a “trash bag” pouch for $1790. And then on top of shit like that, a lot of you fashion niggas just simply can’t dress.
