Madhuri Dixit is a Bollywood icon. The actress has done it all, from the vengeful ghost of a mother to a spunky but responsible sister. In any case, she was always our heroine. Its no wonder that back in the day almost all Madhuri Dixit movies were considered a sure fire hit.

With the face of an angel and the acting skills of a prodigy, Madhuri Dixit is one of Bollywood’s biggest names.

Here are some of the most enjoyable Madhuri Dixit movies in no particular order.

1. Hum Apke Hain Koun (1994)

The story of a spunky and happy go lucky Nisha played by Madhuri Dixit, who has to put her responsibility to her nephew before all.

Hum Apke Hain Koun cast Salman Khan as Madhuri’s love interest. His character has to deal with the possibility of his love Nisha being his ‘Bhabi G’.

Hum Apke Hain Koun was released in 1994.

2. Dil Tou Pagal Hai (1997)

A crazy love story that goes from a triangle to square. In the end, friendship is not love, love is love. This is a Shahrukh Khan cult favorite.

Dil Tou Pagal Hai cast Madhuri as his love interest but she was the better actor here. Karishma Kapoor put up quite a performance as well. This is among one of the best Madhuri Dixit movies.

3. Dil (1990)

This is a story of how the pauper takes the princess. Raja played by Aamir Khan is a poor man from Hazariprasad. While Madhu Mehra (our very own Madhuri) has everything she ever wanted. Madhu accuses Raja of molesting her (talk about a crush gone criminal).

Director Indra Kumar announced that a Dil reboot titled Dil Again is in the cards. While Dil cast Aamir Khan and Maduri Dixit, we do not know if Dil Again cast will include these two actors. Dil Again release date has not been announced.

4. Anjaam (1994)

Shivani a badass heroine doesn’t need a hero to save her from Shahrukh Khan’s villainous character Vijay. Anjaam cast two megastars who fought for dominance onscreen but we’ll call it a tie.

5. Saajan (1991)

A poor, handicapped orphan Aman (Sanjay Dutt) is besties with a wealthy Akash Verma (Salman Khan). Saajan cast Madhuri Dixit as Pooja Saxena, a fan of Aman’s poetry.

Pooja falls in love with more than just Aman’s literature. When Akash falls for Pooja, Aman picks his bro over her.

6. Khal Nayak (1993)

Ballu (Sanjay Dutt) plays a notorious criminal who is swept off his feet by Ganga (Madhuri). The catch is Ganga is Inspector Ram’s (Jackie Shroff) girlfriend, and she’s undercover to trap him.

Khal Nayak cast Madhuri and Sanju, back in the day when people were shipping the two. If it was really true is still a mystery.

7. Devdas (2002)

Although Madhuri is not the lead in this movie. her portrayal of Chander Mukhi has become iconic. Chander Mukhi was one of the few salves for Devdas’s wounds.

Devdas cast Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai as leads but the truth is Madhuri’s performance matched theirs’.

8. Tezaab (1988)

This is the story of how a college student is driven to a life of crime. The college student is played by Anil Kapoor. Madhuri plays his love interest.

Tezaab cast Anil and Madhuri as a couple back when they were a popular pair. Indra Kumar’s Total Dhamaal cast Anil and Madhuri together after almost two decades. Total Dhamaal release date is February, 22, 2019.

9. Beta (1992)

This is the story of a man who is the only child of a widowed multi-millionaire. Raju’s father can support him but this man lives for his mother’s approval. Beta cast Anil Kapoor and Madhuri for another onscreen romance.

10. Mrityudand: The Death Sentence (1997)

Corrupt contractor Tirpat Singh and his colleague MLA Durga Pandey are trying to sell out a village. Now it’s up to a woman (Madhuri) to stop the greed of the two men. Mrityudand: The Death Sentence’s cast was low key other than Madhuri Dixit.
