Bollywood veteran actress Poonam Kaur thanked Pakistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan for opening the Kartarpur Corridor. The actress was here in Islamabad to thank Pakistan.

Poonam Kaur voiced her gratitude when talking to Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan in Islamabad. Poonam asserted that she’s leaving Pakistan with beautiful and eternal memories. She said;

“I am very happy to visit Pakistan.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Firdous termed Kartarpur Corridor ‘a great example of interfaith harmony‘. She said PM Imran Khan sowed a seed of love in the region through the Kartarpur corridor.

She said that minorities enjoyed complete freedom in Pakistan and added that their constitution protects the rights of minorities.

Bollywood celebrities are appreciating the gesture

Besides Poonam Kaur, Bollywood’s Sunny Deol also felt the love during his visit to Kartarpur. The Indian Member of Parliament (MP) talked about his experience after heading back home.

Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Kartarpur Corridor on November 9th. Kartarpur is a border corridor between Pakistan and India, connecting the Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan.

The corridor was opened on the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.

With an open corridor since Tuesday, the entry of Sikh pilgrims from India has been made easier as well as the pilgrimage onward to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Narowal.

In his address at the inauguration ceremony, Imran Khan termed the corridor ‘a gift for the Sikh community around the world‘. Now they have easier access to their holy place with minimal time constraints.

The premier added that love and tolerance are two traits that could bring lasting change in the sub-continent and around the world.
