With the inauguration of the Karatrpur Corridor on November 9th, thousands of Sikh devotees poured into Pakistan. One of them was Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bollywood star Sunny Deol.
The Gadar: Ek Prem Katha actor spoke about the love he received in Pakistan as he heads back home to India. Sunny Deol was present at the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor and was elated at the historical event. The BJP Member of Parliament (MP) said he hopes it will help in bringing peace between India and Pakistan.

Sunny Deol spoke about the love he received from Pakistan while speaking to a local channel upon his arrival back in India. He remarked;
“It was a great occasion. I received a lot of love.”
The BJP leader was hopeful that this sentiment would last and progress with time.
“Log bohat pyaar kartay hain. (The people show a lot of love) This is a great initiative. And I hope things will continue like this.”
The Yamla, Pagla, Deewana actor also expressed hopes of the corridor being a doorway to peace between India and Pakistan.
“This is just the beginning. I hope things remain the same and we all live in love. This is the beginning of peace.”

When probed further, he voiced that he’s opposed to conflict between the neighboring nations. He concluded;
“What’s the point of fighting, there should be love only.”
Sunny Deol wants peace between Pakistan and India
He has reiterated this stance before. Previously he also told Indian media outlet ANI that;
“It was a really nice visit. I hope that the corridor further helps in maintaining peace (between India and Pakistan). This was our beginning towards it.”
The BJP MP Sunny Deol was part of the first caravan of Sikh pilgrims to visit Kartarpur Gurdwara on the occasion of the corridor’s inauguration in Pakistan.

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also attended the event on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Pakistani Prime Minister who was at the inauguration ceremony to welcome the first group of pilgrims. While he was doing so Imran Khan was missing former Punjab Cabinet Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu. An adorable video of Imran Khan referring to Najovt Singh as ‘our Sidhu’ has the Internet melting in a puddle.
The former cricketer, Najovt Singh Sidu was the Indian Minister that laid the first stone of the corridor earlier this year.
