BTS and Jungkook Dominate Worldwide Twitter Trends After FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony

The older BTS members were the proudest of little Kookie.

BTS’s Golden Maknae, Jeon Jungkook (aka JK) set the stage on fire with his amazing performance at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup last night. The Korean heartthrob made history as the second solist in the world to perform an official FIFA anthem and the first Korean solist to perform on the FIFA World Cup stage. He performed Dreamers featuring Qatari singer, Fahad Al Kubaisi, and set the standard for upcoming World Cup opening ceremonies.

Regular football fans and BTS ARMYs went crazy after watching him shine brightly with his solo performance and made him a trending topic on Twitter.

Even his bandmates RM, V, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, and Jimin were proud of their youngest member and cheered for him from their homes. They shared the recordings of JK’s performance on their Instagram to show off and praise him for his stellar achievement.

And that’s how all of the BTS took over the Twitter trends last night.

After his performance, JK revealed on Weverse that he had an issue with his in-ear, which made it impossible for him to hear himself as he sang, and so he didn’t know how his performance had been.

Viewers, on the other hand, showered him with commendations as he perfectly delivered the song without an issue.

He later thanked all his fans on his Weverse live stream for being proud of him.

Suga couldn’t resist coming in with a comment that left fans feeling even more touched.

For the unversed, the FIFA World Cup 2022 began in Qatar at the Al-Bayt Stadium yesterday and JK’s performance became the highlight of the event.

The Euphoria singer wore a shiny black outfit and with his energy and confidence took over the entire stadium with the debut song.

JK has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first and only Korean ever to perform on the FIFA World Cup stage and also the first artist to have an official solo soundtrack for the FIFA World Cup since Ricky Martin’s The Cup Of Life in 1998.

The Dreamers music video is scheduled to be released on FIFA’s official YouTube channel on Tuesday.
