Burewala Assistant Commissioner Suspended For Misbehaving with a Security Guard

The govt. official and his men thrashed the guard for stopping him.

The Assistant Commissioner of Burewala, Rana Aurangzeb, was placed under suspension on Thursday after an unsavory video emerged of him on social media. In the clip, the assistant commissioner was seen allegedly having a school’s security guard assaulted when he asked for identification.

The public appreciated the swift action taken against Aurangzeb for his misbehavior.

One of the biggest traits of corruption is abusing power and status. It is a common norm in Pakistan to see politicians, businessmen, and even government official use their authority to be given ‘special treatment’ or privilege. If anyone denies them, or as much as ask them to follow certain protocols (basically, doing their job), these so-called ‘public officials’ tend to lash out.

The classic phrase they use often use is: “Do you know who I am!?” Which what Mr. Rana Aurangzeb said after a school’s security guard stopped him and his entourage from simply barging into the premises.

Apparently, the guard was only asking to check the temperature of the assistant commissioner before letting him in.

Fortunately, there was a CCTV camera on campus, which showed the assistant commissioner’s cronies shoving the poor guard aside and then thrashing him.

Following public outcry, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication, Dr. Shahbaz Gill tweeted the news and said that swift action should be taken against Aurangzeb.

The Chief Secretary of Punjab acknowledged the news and Aurangzeb was placed under suspension. Dr. Gill thanked him and stated that action will be taken against those who treat the poor unjustly.

However, Aurangzeb has filed an FIR against the security guard for ‘misbehaving’ and how he ‘interfered in the performance of his duties as a public servant.’
