CCPO Lahore Abuses Cop For Talking in English

Another controversy for the controversial police chief.

CCPO Umer Sheikh Sub-Inspector Fahad Iftikhar Virk

Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umer Sheikh made headlines, not too long ago, for his derogatory remarks against the victim of the motorway rape incident. This time, he’s back in the limelight for another instance of uncalled-for behavior.

Apparently the CCPO is under fire for the treatment he meted out to his subordinate. Trainee Sub-Inspector Fahad Iftikhar Virk, his subordinate, was a hardworking and brilliant police officer. But it seems like the CCPO doesn’t do common decency as Sheikh reportedly lambasted Virk in an official meeting. For what reason you may ask? Read on.

In an interview with The Express Tribune, Virk revealed that he was at the forefront of the establishment of the social media cell of the Punjab Police force. When the CCPO asked Virk a question, he proceeded to answer in English. This apparently hit a nerve with Sheikh.

Allegedly, Umer Sheikh abused the Trainee Sub-Inspector calling him ‘Angrez ki aulaad’ [descendant of the English] and ‘khotay ka bacha’ [Son of a donkey]. This led to Virk resigning from the force.

I could not tolerate him abusing my father that was too much for me.

His behavior is unbecoming of his rank as well as being illegal and immoral.

This altercation between CCPO Umer Sheikh and Sub-Inspector Fahad Iftikhar Virk has left other police officers demotivated and disheartened, according to some sources.
