Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh has found himself in hot waters again as leaked audio of him abusing a woman, who needed his help, went viral on social media. The CCPO claims that this is another conspiracy against him.
Not too long ago, the same police officer was criticized for shaming the victim of the infamous Lahore Motorway incident on TV. While many people sympathized with her and demanded justice, a certain CCPO decided to pass comment on the victim for traveling alone and not being ‘well-prepped’.
Following his insensitive remarks, the CCPO had been put on blast by the public and had to issue an apology before the Senate committee.

Abusing a woman, again
The police officer has landed himself in another controversy once again when leaked audio of him abusing a woman on the phone went viral.
According to the audio, the woman asked him for an ‘impartial’ probe into the detention of her husband in a ‘fake’ narcotics case.
The woman claims that her husband was picked up by a sub-inspector (SI) from their Raiwind residence. In return, the SI demanded Rs. 3 million as bribe for her husband’s safe release.
The Lahore SSP (Discipline) and Saddar SP investigated the matter in two separate reports and declared that the woman’s allegations were false. They revealed that her husband was a habitual criminal and drug pusher.
CCPO Sheikh has stated that the woman’s call was an attempted conspiracy against him and he had asked her not to contact him again.
