After a verbal flogging on Twitter, CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh got an earful from renowned lawyer Khadija Siddiqui for telling Pakistani women that ‘its a man’s world.’ Khadija took offence to the CCPO’s remarks that our societies do not allow females to travel alone after dark.
Pakistani lawyer Khadija Siddiqui, reminds the police officer of her own case, and how she was stabbed 23 times in broad daylight in Lahore.
Calling him out on his victim-shaming, she schooled him on how he doesn’t get to set ‘time limits’ when women can and cannot travel.
Ccpo claiming that in our society women/children arent allowed to go outside after 12:30 am! Who are you to set time limits for us?
I was stabbed 23 times in broad daylight! Dont tell us that 'time' is directly connected to the commission of offence! #motorwayincident pic.twitter.com/8z9ERuJ3Rc— khadija siddiqi (@khadijasid751) September 10, 2020

CCPO Lahore Resorts to Victim Shaming
Khadija Siddiqui was responding to the Lahore CCPO’s comments about how the motorway rape victim shouldn’t have been traveling alone at night.
By placing the responsibility of women’s safety on the victim, we’re just giving predators a clean shot. Because apparently public safety and civil security is no longer the responsibility of law enforcement.

۔#CCPOLahore کو نشانہ بنانے کی بجائے مجرموں کو کیفر کردار تک پہنچانے کیلیے آواز اٹھائیں 🙏 pic.twitter.com/Z7YeMZn6TW
