Celebrities Mourn the Loss of Veteran Actor Qavi Khan

He was last seen on TV in the show ‘Meri Shehzadi’

Veteran actor Qavi Khan has passed away on Sunday. The 80-year-old renowned actor was in Canada for treatment of a prolonged illness, where he breathed his last.

Qavi Khan is a legend of the Pakistani entertainment industry. Born on November 13, 1947, in Peshawar, Qavi Khan has worked in numerous Pakistani television dramas, films, and stage plays.

He started his career as a theatre artist in the 1960s and later moved to television in the 1970s. He gained recognition for his work in the TV drama Khuda Ki Basti, which was aired in 1974. He has since appeared in numerous TV dramas, including Dhoop Kinare, Andhera Ujala, Zanjeer, and Durr-e-Shehwar, among others.

Qavi Khan has also acted in several Pakistani films, including Ishq Khuda, Manto, and Actor in Law.

Qavi Khan was last seen on the big screen in the Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan starrer Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. His last project was Meri Shehzadi, in which he played the grandfather of Urwa Hocane’s character. However, he left the show due to his failing health.

For his invaluable contributions to the industry, Qavi Khan was honored with numerous awards and accolades, including the presidential award, Pride of Performance, for his outstanding performance, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, the LSA lifetime achievement award, and three Nigar awards. Khan gave the industry his identity, place, and precious memories.
