Upcoming thriller Daadal starring Sonya Hussyn, Mohsin Abbas Haider, and Rizwan Ali Jaffri held a special trailer launch ceremony at Karachi’s Cinepax Cinema on Friday.
Aside from the gripping trailer, the event also premiered three songs from the upcoming film, including rapper Eva B’s “Khoon Hai Karachi Ka” .
Although writer and director, Abu Aleeha was absent, the three stars of Daadal along with producer Neha Laaj turned up at the event for a short Q&A session.
Sonya Hussyn, who plays a boxer from Lyari talked about her amazing experience in that famous neighborhood. “I got to realize by being there that Karachi’s real artists come from Lyari. Footballers, boxers etc.” she told journalists.
Mohsin Abbas Haider also enjoyed his visit to Lyari and his interaction with its resident, saying, “They are a very welcoming, loving people. We got to learn that never believe in stories that you hear.”
According to the Daadal producer and CEO of Laaj Productions, Neha Laaj,
Daadal is a story about women owning their power and seeking justice. It’s a labor of a lot of hard work and love. I hope people will appreciate the film that we have put our heart and soul into to bring to you.
