Dance Party at Malam Jabba Hotel Goes Viral, Lands Owner in Trouble [Video]

A viral dance party video from a hotel in Malam Jabba has landed its hotel owner and manager in trouble. The video shows students and tourists dancing at a festival and enjoying the cold weather.

The hotel hosted an event called Harvest Festival Pakistan from December 3 to December 6. As the video surfaced on social media, it spread like wildfire, which led to a police inquiry.

According to the reports, they have arrested the hotel owner and manager on the charges of violating SOPs and promoting “vulgarity” and “obscenity”. A case was registered on January 6.

The complainant of the case, SHO Javed Iqbal said that they took the measures after the video went viral. The president of the Swat Traders Association and other locals condemned the act, after which, the local police then acted promptly and carried out a raid on the hotel.

The hotel owner and manager have been booked under Section 294 (annoying others by singing, dancing, or uttering obscene songs, ballads or words in a public place) of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 33 (punishment for failing to comply with federal or provincial government’s orders) of the National Disaster Management Act, 2010.

They were also charged with sections three and four of the West Pakistan Regulation and Control of Loud Speakers and Sound Amplifiers Ordinance, 1965.
