Actor Danish Taimoor has found himself in hot water after casually claiming that he has the right to marry up to four times in front of his wife, Ayeza Khan, during his special Ramazan transmission alongside former news anchor Rabia Anam.

Taimoor stated, “The permission to men for four marriages has been granted, but I am not doing it yet, that’s a different story.” He added, “I won’t do it because I love and respect my wife, even though I still have the right.” While he emphasized his contentment with his marriage to Ayeza Khan, the use of the word ‘filhaal’ (for now) raised eyebrows and left many viewers shocked.

Critics quickly took to social media, expressing their discontent with Taimoor’s comments, which they deemed unnecessary and inappropriate, especially given the context of the discussion. One user pointedly remarked, “Men always remember their right to marry four times, but they conveniently forget the conditions.”

The backlash was swift, with many feeling that Taimoor’s tone conveyed a sense of entitlement rather than responsibility. Former model and host Frieha Altaf chimed in, stating, “Total disrespect to a wonderful talented wife. Arrogant tone, self-absorbed attitude, and propagandist for misogyny and polygamy.”

As the internet labeled him a “red flag,” comparisons were drawn to actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, whose earlier comments on polygamy showcased a more thoughtful and respectful approach. One user on X (formerly Twitter) quipped, “In a world full of Danish Taimoors, be a Hamza Ali Abbasi.”

Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan, once celebrated as one of Pakistan’s most beloved celebrity couples, now find themselves at the center of a debate about how public figures should navigate sensitive topics. With Ramadan in full swing, many are questioning the appropriateness of discussing such matters on live television.
