The date of the Valima ceremony of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s grandson Junaid Safdar and granddaughter-in-law Ayesha Saif-ur-Rehman has been set. But we want more details about the wedding!
The curiosity has been gradually bubbling about the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) heir’s wedding since the announcement of his Nikkah. Following a nikkah in London, the Valima will now be held in Lahore on December 17.
Junaid Safdar, the son of PML-N vice-President Maryam Nawaz and Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar will finally have his parents at his wedding festivities. Previously the couple could not make it to their son’s nikkah due to Maryam’s name being placed on the exit control list (ECL). The move is due to multiple ongoing graft and money laundering cases against her.
Junaid Safdar and Ayesha Saif tied the knot in a private ceremony held in London back in August. The event was attended by former premier Nawaz Sharif and senior PML-N leaders including former finance minister Ishaq Dar, who is also residing in London amid graft cases against him in Pakistan.
For the Valima, it is rumored that the PML-N chief and leadership in London will attend the festivities via video link.
According to Channel 24 reports, former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, his son Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) president Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman are also invited.
