District Commissioner (DC) Shikarpur Naveed Larik has got himself into trouble with his elitist behavior recently. Apparently the Director Inspector General from Larkana did not like that Naveed ordered a policeman to hold his umbrella.
DC Naveed Larik might be a ‘civil servant’ but he had policemen treat him like a princess, holding his umbrella and all. While visiting an area after the rain, DC Shikarpur wouldn’t even hold his own umbrella.
Who knows how long he’d been exhibiting such behavior. Someone snapped a picture of the incident and it went viral.
People called out the civil servant for his elitist behavior. Netizens demanded that he be reprimanded.

Even the police is not amused
The viral photograph not only caused outrage among the public but among police higher-ups as well. This is not what they signed up for when vowing to ‘protect and serve‘.

DIG Larkana Irfan Baloch also took notice of the incident. He wasn’t about to let DC Naveed Larik get away with using policemen as his personal errand boy. DIG Larkana made it clear that policemen accompany a DC for security purposes.
Yet since DC Shikarpur can’t treat them right, he will no longer have police protection. After all, he had been disrespectful, to say the least.
This isn’t the first such incident of a DC stepping out of line. Previously, Assistant Commissioner Mardan was also called out for his elitist behavior.
