Dear Fayyaz Chohan, Calling Disabled Kids as ‘Azaab’ Is Not OK

What an insensitive thing to say.

Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan

Just when you think Punjab minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan couldn’t get lower. This time the politician went ahead and called disabled children as ‘Azaab’ for parents.

You’d think the Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan would have learned to think before he speaks after his distasteful remarks about our Hindu community, but he did it again.

No one appreciates what he said, and even Muniba Mazari took him to school on Twitter.

Here’s what happened during a recent press conference:

In the midst of a press conference, with Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan ‘explained‘ that children pay for the crimes of their parents and that’s how disabled children are ‘Allah’s azaab for such parents.

People were appalled by this insensitivity, most of all Muniba Mazari. The ex-Hum News host spoke about how her mother is no less proud of her disabled daughter.

Others joined in to condemn the politician’s insensitivity.

Even Minister of Human Rights, Shireen Mazari called out Chohan on the comments.

Yet there were people who were trying to rationalize the politician’s remarks.
