With the coronavirus (or COVID-19) continuing to spread and create panic worldwide, doctors and nurses have become the true heroes of humanity. These are the people who are standing on the front-lines, risking their lives to contain the deadly virus. Pakistani doctors and nurses are having the most difficult of times as they do not have sufficient resources or even safety equipment such as masks to protect themselves.
However, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail is ready to take steps in ensuring the safety and well-being of our front-line soldiers in the war against COVID-19. He has asked people from the textile industry to join him. He recently sought out the support of renowned fashion designer Deepak Perwani to assist him in this endeavor.
Imran Ismail organized a four-member delegation (via phone call) at the Governor House, which was led by Deepak Perwani. The meeting also included lawmaker Sidra Imran from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Kehkashan Saiyed, Furqan Riaz and Shozaib Kapadia.

Perwani said that it is the textile and fashion industry’s duty to help manufacture medical masks and gloves for the brave men and women working tirelessly to care for the COVID-19 patients. Imran Ismail asked for details of the planned local manufacture of protective gear for health care professionals fighting against the coronavirus emergency, saying that he would personally look into the issue and facilitate them.
He also stated that COVID-19 was a national issue, and that devoted, dedicated and, most importantly, combined efforts were needed nationwide for the prevention and elimination of the challenge.
