Like the rest of the world, Pakistan and its doctors are fighting diligently against the spread of coronavirus. The infected number of cases has surpassed 1600 and we are at the risk of getting more cases within the next 7 days.
What is more alarming than this, however, is the lack of medical equipment and protective suits for the doctors.
Fashion designer Asim Jofa has taken a stand for the medical staff in this hour of distress. He made an announcement on his social media that he will be producing protective gear for healthcare workers.
“Asim Jofa and team have taken an initiative to contribute to society and play our part in helping our frontliners to win this fight against corona virus. We have started working on stitching protective gear for doctors and medical staff to wear for their safety.”

The designer has been constantly updating the progress of this protective gear through his social media. Earlier he shared a video where he could be seen testing out the first prototype with his team.

The Final Results
In another video, he revealed that the medical gear is ready for production. This time they used better fabric and also tried to improve the protection levels. Asim also mentioned that these suits are being produced according to the guidelines provided by medical experts.
“Asim Jofa with his team had taken up the task for this good cause and we are very happy to announce within less than 48 hours we have successfully created a final prototype of a medical protective suit made according to the guidelines provided by medical experts…”

The production of these medical suits begins today and they will be distributed to the hospitals for free. This, of course, is a wonderful step to help our doctors to perform well while keeping them safe. We hope that this brings a change for the better.
