After her banging entry in Mere Paas Tum Ho as Mahum, Savera Nadeem opened up about how real her slap was.
Mere Paas Tum Ho’s fanbase has long wondered who’d be playing Shahwar’s estranged wife Mahum. When Savera Nadeem finally made an entry with a slap to Mehwish’s (Ayeza Khan) face, that scene went viral.
So was that a real slap? The Meraas actress shared how in all her years in theater and drama she’s always delivered a real slap if the script demands it. She would also get slapped for real, if the script had a slap scene.

Savera Nadeem spills all
In an interview with Something Haute, Savera Nadeem talked about how slapping a woman is no longer allowed for the sake of the script. Fake slaps are delivered now. Yet, her slap scene with Ayeza Khan was very real.
“I don’t believe in fake slaps nor I take fake slaps or give fake slaps. This is the only way I know how to act. I have worked in theatre for so long but I can’t fake act on fake slaps. Nowadays, in plays, it is not allowed to slap a woman.”
The Bari Apa actress explained how Ayeza Khan was on board with the idea. This was all done in order to capture her natural expression on screen. The shot was recorded from various angles to get it right and not overdo it.
“I think there is no such rule about a woman hitting a woman on screen. I was quite realistic about it and Ayeza Khan being a professional too and I told her that I will slap you in real so your expressions can be more real. She was all for it. But they didn’t want to make it over-dramatic and we took two-three shots from different angles so that Ayeza’s reaction can be recorded.”
