Donald Trump Gets Angry At The Oscars For Awarding Best Picture To ‘Parasite’

POTUS is not happy about a foreign film claiming Hollywood’s top prize.

Well, the Oscars are done with and there have been a few surprises. One of the biggest was South Korean film Parasite winning the prestigious Best Picture award. However, some people were not happy with this, particularly the US President or POTUS, Donald Trump who told a campaign rally that he wished for the return of Hollywood classics like 1939’s Gone with the Wind.

Trump ridiculed the awards just because they gave top honors to a foreign film. We all know, Trump doesn’t like foreigners, which is right next to his dream of building a wall around Mexico.

“How bad were the Academy Awards this year?” asked Trump at the rally in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Imitating an Academy Awards presenter.

He said:

“And the winner is a movie from South Korea. What the hell was that all about? We’ve got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. And after all that, they give them best movie of the year? Can we get ‘Gone With the Wind’ back, please?”

Trump said to thousands of supporters, referring to the film about the Civil War-era South that won the best-picture Oscar 80 years ago.

Parasite is a dark social satire about the gap between rich and poor in modern Seoul, earlier this month became the first non-English-language film to take Hollywood’s top prize. It also won three other Oscars, which included best director and original screenplay for Bong Joon Ho and best international feature film.

Unless you are a Trump supporter, we suggest you check out this gem of a film. As for the POTUS, stay posted for more updates as he will be visiting another ‘beloved’ national leader this month, Modi. Let’s see how that goes.
