It seems that the well-publicized case of Dua Mangi, who was kidnapped in December last year, is almost at its logical end. The Karachi-based teenager was kidnapped for ransom, and there was a lot of talk in the media for why the kidnappers were still roaming the streets of our country freely.

On March 18th, two suspects were arrested out of a gang of five, who were behind Dua’s kidnapping. They were found in different areas of the country and were on trial for suspected kidnapping for ransom.
Later, at a court hearing in Judicial Magistrate South, Karachi, Dua identified the two kidnappers and said that they, along with their accomplices, kidnapped her from outside of a restaurant. The suspects, Zohaib Qureshi and Muzaffar, had been under confinement for a week.
Both suspects, Zohaib Qureshi and Muzaffar, have been in police custody for a week.

Additional IG Ghulam Nabi Memon confirmed that the five-member kidnappers’ gang that was behind Dua Mangi and Bisma’s kidnapping was led by an ousted police officer.
He also added that the raids were conducted in different areas of Pakistan after the intelligence reports were confirmed.
According to the Penal Code of Pakistan, if a criminal abducts a person for the intent of extorting a valuable asset, they shall be punished by death or life imprisonment.
We hope justice is brought to the families of Dua and Bisma.
