Khaadi just revealed its most awaited collaboration of the year and the internet is going crazy. The brand has launched its special edition collection and Turkish actress Esra Bilgic is the muse we have all been waiting to see.
Esra Bilgic rose to fame with the overnight success of DiriliÅŸ: ErtuÄŸrul in Pakistan. The actress inspired millions of people around the world with her character of Halime Sultan and instantly became a role model for Muslims.
Soon, ‘Halima Sultan’ became a household name in Pakistan and her popularity reached the skies. A couple of months ago, it was reported that the actress has signed an interesting project with Khaadi. However, the details weren’t revealed until now.
Titled as My Symphony, the collection features ‘versatile designs to suit every occasion‘. The eye catching and cool color combinations fused with intricate embellishments give you a close look of the traditional designs.

This is shameful. As a Pakistani international brand, Khaadi should showcase Pakistani models of different skin tones and shapes. Having a Turkish actress represent the brand’s clothing is inappropriate. It shows a lack of belief in Pakistani beauty. Additionally there is already a disproportionate number of fair skinned models in Pakistani and Turkish fashion. This is not healthy representation for the public. Seems like Khaadi is struggling to represent what it means to be Pakistani.
